When an exact age actually matters

Most of the time "I'm 34" is close enough — but plenty of situations need the precise figure in years, months, and days, and that is awkward to work out in your head:

• Official forms — visa, passport, and pension applications often ask for exact age on a specific date.
• Eligibility cut-offs — school enrolment, sports age brackets, and retirement dates that hinge on a particular day.
• Milestones — checking which day you turn exactly 10,000 days old, or how long until a big birthday.
• Gaps between dates — the precise span between any two events, not just birthdays.

Why "exact age" is trickier than subtracting years

Working out age by hand goes wrong because months have different lengths and leap years add a day every four years. Simply subtracting the birth year from the current year ignores whether your birthday has happened yet this year — which is exactly the off-by-one error forms penalise. This calculator counts the real calendar days between the two dates, so it accounts for 28-, 30-, and 31-day months and February 29th automatically, and gives the same answer an official would.

Can I find my age on a future or past date?
Yes. Change the target date from today to any date, and the tool shows how old you were — or will be — on that exact day.

Does it handle leap years correctly?
It does. The calculation is based on actual elapsed calendar days, so February 29th and varying month lengths are all accounted for.

If I was born on Feb 29, when is my "birthday" in other years?
Leap-day birthdays are commonly observed on Feb 28 or Mar 1 in non-leap years; the exact day count between dates remains correct either way.

Is my data uploaded to a server?
