Unlock password-protected PDFs. Remove print, copy, and edit restrictions — or open a password-protected PDF by entering its password.
Open Password (User Password): The PDF cannot be opened without this password. You must enter the correct password to unlock it. Our tool uses it to process and produce an unrestricted copy.
Owner Password (Permissions Password): The PDF can be opened normally, but printing, copying text, and editing are blocked. Our tool removes these restrictions automatically — no password entry needed.
Unlocking a PDF you own or have authorization to access is completely legal. This tool is intended for:
Do not use this tool to access documents you are not authorized to view.
Can I unlock a PDF without knowing the password?
If the PDF only has owner/permission restrictions (but opens without a password), yes — leave the password field empty and we remove the restrictions automatically. If it requires an open password to view, you must know and enter the correct password.
What encryption levels are supported?
Our tool handles the most common PDF encryption standards (40-bit RC4, 128-bit RC4, 128-bit AES). Very old or non-standard encryption may not be supported.
Is my PDF stored on your server?
No. Your file is processed and deleted automatically within minutes. We never store or access your documents.
Will the unlocked PDF look the same as the original?
Yes. The content, formatting, images, and layout are preserved exactly. Only the password and restrictions are removed.
